Fruit SmoothiesA great way to start your day----really the only way for me---keeps my energy level constant and the need for more food is nonexistent—at least until midday. Have to have a blender! Add: a banana, a container of low fat yogurt, 8 oz of juice (anything but tomato), berries---strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, chopped up cantaloupe or mango. Any one or all of the above is great…..blend, pour, drink…done! Grilled veggie and chicken wraps
Ingredients: Wraps—any flavor---I like sun-dried tomato or whole wheat Chicken cooked and sliced * see suggestions for chicken Hummus---any flavor—I like roasted red pepper Veggies: Green beans, red bell pepper, carrots, snap peas, sweet onions, sweet potatoes, mushrooms…any and all that you like---cut them up strips. To roast veggies: Place all veggies in a bowl, toss with 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil, salt and pepper---throw in a couple dashes of red chili flakes for a bit of a zip! Roast in oven-450---for 30 minutes, turn the veggies every 10 minutes. Let cool. To assemble: Spread 2 Tablespoons of hummus on wrap. Add some veggies and chicken strips to bottom of wrap Fold each side over to meet on the middle. Begin rolling; the hummus should help the wrap stay together. Cut in half and serve with a salad. *Chicken
Use skinless, breasts. Cut into strips. Marinade in Ann Marie’s Secret Sauce for 45 minutes to an hour. Stir-fry until tender…ready for wraps, top a salad, or just eat it as is! |
